However, the penny test isn’t the only way to go; it’s also crucial to perform non-tread tests as well. Check for wear that appears prominently on one side of your tire over the other – this could mean poor alignment. Also, if your tires are primarily worn in the center, but not on the outer edges, it could mean that your tires are over-inflated. If it’s the other way around, they could be under-deflated.
